Panasonic's Toughbook gets wireless broadband
Panasonic today launched the Toughbook CF-29, the first Toughbook that comes with Cingular’s 3G Broadband Connect HSDPA service as standard feature. Considering the Toughbook’s target customer group, public safety personnel as well as military and commercial field staff, wireless broadband can be considered a significant feature enhancement of the device.
Cingular’s EDGE network provides national high-speed wireless data network in the U.S., provides average download speeds of up to 135 kb/s, Panasonic said. Specifications and pricing of the device have not been announced.
