Panasonic puts 32MB on 2HD floppies
Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics Industries (Panasonic) will begin selling disk drives this month in Japan that increase standard 1.44MB floppy disk capacity by more than 20 times to 32MB. The drives use the same zone bit recording that encodes data in hard and optical disc systems. The drive also supports 120MB and 240MB versions of the SuperDisk format. The price will reportedly be less than $87.
