Panasonic wants 40% of global PDP TV market
Positive about market growth in the US and Europe this year, Panasonic (the brand name of Matsushita Electric Industrial) aims to grab 40% of the global PDP (plasma display panel) TV market in 2006, according to Ken Morita, vice president of Panasonic AVC Networks, on Wednesday, in a speech at Finetech Japan & Display 2006 in Tokyo.
The company expects to grow its worldwide PDP-TV shipments to 4 million this year, up 100% from 2 million units in 2005, Morita indicated.
