Palm finally hooks up with WiFi
Palm early this morning announced two new PDAs. The Zire 71
with built-in digital camera and audio/video playback capability, and Tungsten C
, Palm's first product with integrated 802.11b
wireless capability.
The Zire 71 is shipping now for around $300 , with shipments of the Tungsten C starting May 5 and priced just below $500 .
Both devices run PalmOS 5.2.1 and have 16-Bit, 320x320 transflective TFT color displays. The Zire 71 uses the Graffiti 2 handwriting entry system, while the Tungsten C sports a keyboard similar to that on the Tungsten W model. The new products represent some slick technology, but we'll see if the market wants another $500 PDA, even if it does have built-in 802.11b, color screen and integrated keyboard.
