P4 bug not fixed
The bug in the Pentium 4 chipset that delayed the launch of Intel Corp.'s flagship chip by a month is not fixed. The errata can cause problems when large amounts of data are processed through a PCI bus. Intel admits that users may experience system degradations if a second monitor or an additional graphics card is connected through one of the PCI expansion slots in a Pentium 4 computer. A repaired chip is reportedly due out soon and manufacturers are warning users of possible problems with the current chip. Compaq and Dell Computer offer an optional Matrox G450 graphics board that can channel two monitors through the faster Advanced Graphics Port.
