OS-independent SecureAgent offers security, privacy
Phoenix Technologies Ltd. has announced SecureAgent, an operating system-independent, two-level cryptographic-based system security product.
Designed to protect notebook, desktop, server and industrial computers at the critical system start up phase, SecureAgent offers two-level security functionality at the "T-Zero" time, which is the period between the system power-on and the initiation of an operating system, such as Windows98.
Operating in this manner, SecureAgent cannot be bypassed by booting the system from a network or floppy disk, a key weakness of operating system-based security technologies.
