Survey: File Sharing is More Immoral Than Porn
Napster bad! Porn good!
A poll conducted in New Zealand asked 1,000 people on their views regarding the morality of certain, perhaps more risky, activities.
41 percent of those asked felt that watching porn online was morally acceptable for a single person. 21 percent thought that it was morally acceptable for a married person to watch porn without telling his or her spouse, reported PC World.
Both cases above were viewed as more moral acts than downloading copyrighted music or videos onto one's hard drive. 18 percent viewed downloading music as moral, and 13 percent thought downloading video was okay.
Of course, given that the downloading of copyright music and video is against the law, and viewing porn is legal, that does fall in line with what the rule books say.
Interestingly, there seems to be a certain difference in perception of piracy whether or not videos are saved onto one's hard drive for offline viewing. The moral approval rate for watching copyrighted videos jumps to 31 percent when it is done through an online streaming website.
The twist to this, as pointed out by TorrentFreak, that many pornographic websites display copyright infringing materials.

congratulations on figuring out the obvious.
next weeks survey: 'whats more immoral? killing a person or eating a jam sandwich?
@welshmousepk: moral =/= legal. go read up on ethics
and you don't think its obvious that the majority of people would conclude that something legal is more moral than something illegal?
go read up on common sense.
my compass points North
Now that must be a picture of "Booty bay"
Guys, when I download porn its only for my private viewing, I don't redistribute it, regardless of if I pay for it or got it for free, my take on this is that piracy and watching porn is the same. I always buy food that is fair trade and I always buy jewellery that is from reputable companies, blood diamonds, blood porn, blood money and blood trades just don't cut it for me. Fair trade may cost more but it just tastes that much better knowing that the grower got a good deal, likewise it feels good knowing that the girls got a fair percentage of the pay. Oh, and I'm not into any of that bizarre, crazy stuff like gay stuff, beastry and painful stunts!
