Odigo beats AOL instant messaging block

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Instant messaging vendor Odigo has posted a software patch on its Web site that will restore interoperability with America Online's rival software, AOL Instant Messenger.

AOL contends that Odigo and other rival instant messaging software vendors are effectively "hacking" its system, and that blocking interoperability is a way of safeguarding AOL members from unauthorized users gaining access to their accounts.
