Summary : Speed Wins Out Over Timing
Our benchmarks show that only slight advantages in modern 3D games can be achieved with the faster OCZ memory at CL 2.5. In any case, the very high performance standard set by a 500 MHz DDR speed on a Pentium 4 system running at 1000 MHz FSB should not be forgotten.
Where there’s an acute need for performance, our endorsement goes to an overclocked Pentium 4 running at 1000 instead of 800 MHz FSB in tandem with equally tweakable memory (PC4000 or DDR500). This does far more for performance than ultra-fast memory modules.
