Nvidia goes pro with Quadro
Nvidia has entered the graphics workstation market with a chip based on its 256-bit GeForce graphics engine.
The Quadro chip is the first fruit of Nvidia's acquisition of SGI's graphics technology expertise.
Nvidia claims Quadro can generate up to 17 million triangles per second and fill up to 540 million pixels per second. The part will ship with Windows NT and Linux drivers.
