DirectX 9 cards can natively handle PixelShader v1.4 as well. Without 1.4 support, this test can carry out a v1.1 alternative code, which requires multiple passes per shader. The FX, however, doesn't seem to make use of its own 1.4 capabilities. It's still uncertain whether the cause lies with 3DM or the NVIDIA drivers.
It's surprising how poorly the FX 5600/ 5200 perform in this test, and it's inexplicable as to why the 5600U lags behind the Ti 4200.
