Nvidia eyes Mac graphics chip market
Hoping to take a bite out of the Apple graphics market, Nvidia is promoting its latest chip, the GeForce2 MX, for use in Macintoshes.
While it could be some time before an actual Mac product is available, officials at the PC graphics chipmaker said they hope to replace ATI Technologies as the premier graphics chipmaker for the Mac market. Rival graphics chipmaker 3dfx has already announced plans to have its first Mac-specific graphics boards on shelves this month.
