NVIDIA cuts board deals at Computex

NVIDIA Corp. kicked off the Computex trade show in Taiwan by announcnig agreements with ASUSTeK Computer Inc. and ABIT Computer Corp.

ASUSTeK will launch a series of graphics accelerators worldwide, based on NVIDIA's portfolio of 3D graphics processors. The first products resulting from this relationship will be ASUSTeK's AGP-V3800 series of 3D graphics accelerators, based on the RIVA TNT2.

The AGP-V3800 series will feature 32MB of memory and clock speeds up to 183MHz, are designed with high-quality compression technology and Live3800 video capture software. ASUSTeK's design enables 30-frames/sec motion video capture with 704-by-480 (NTSC) resolution. The V3800 Deluxe platform also features TV-out, video-in and D3D VR stereoscope.

ABIT Computer unveiled its ZX-21, an integrated motherboard solution based on NVIDIA's Vanta 3D graphics processor.

The ZX-21 has been designed specifically for "value-conscious" users, providing onboard 2D and 3D acceleration via NVIDIA's VANTA, a 128-bit TwiN Texel, highly integrated 2D/3D graphics processor that leverages the RIVA TNT2 core architecture.
