Nvidia challenges ATI for PC graphics lead
Analysts and investors are watching the contest between the two leading graphics chipmakers as Nvidia seems ready to take over ATI's first position in the desktop PC market. Nvidia has agressively sought the desktop market, upgrading product more frequently than ATI, which maintains its position as the largest overall supplier of graphics chips in the $1.8 billion market. ATI's share of the more lucrative and faster growing notebook PC market rose from 17 to 48 percent last year.
