Nvidia announces 7300 GS GPU

by - source: Tom's Hardware

Nvidia today announced a new graphics processor for the mainstream market. The 7300 GS is the firm’s next-generation shared memory - in Nvidia terms "Turbocache" - part that will provide roughly twice the performance of a 6200 TC card, according to the company. 7300 GS will be available in 128 MB/64 MB and 256 MB/128 MB versions and compete against ATI’s X1300 "Hypermemory" cards in the sub-$100 segment.

The 7300 GS is the firm’s first 90 nm chip and is expected to hit retail shelves in the first or second week of February. According to the 7300 product page, 7300 cards are not SLI capable.
