Nvidia intros 320 MB 8800 GTS model
Santa Clara (CA) - Nvidia today announced a new version of its 8800 series of graphics cards. The new GTS version comes with the 500 MHz core clock and the 1600 MHz memory clock of the GTS models currently available in the market, but integrates only half the memory - 320 MB instead of 640 MB.
The new cards are expected to retail for prices ranging from about $300 to $350, while the regular GTS covers the space from $400 to $450. Among the first vendors to announce 320 MB GTS cards were XFX and PNY. Sparkle was first to promote an overclocked 320 MB GTS card, which runs on a 580 MHz CPU and 1780 MHz memory.
