Travelodge Hotel trains staff to deal with increased numbers of nude sleepwalkers
Hotel chain Travelodge, which owns 300 hotels in Britain has recently released a “Sleepwalker’s Guide” to allow staff to handle the company’s significant increase in nude sleepwalkers.
The hotel chain has a reported a increase in sleepwalkers in the last year with this years batch of sleepwalkers being seven times that of last years, with 95 percent of the accidental exhibitionists being men. A Travelodge spokeswoman explained the mostly-male factor with the fact that the hotel has more male guests than female.
One of the handy tips in the staff guide for dealing with the sleepy guests is to keep a towel handy behind the reception desk should they need to aid customers in maintaining their, er, dignity during their lewd wanderings.
Sleep deprivation, chaotic sleep schedules, fever, stress, magnesium deficiency, and alcohol intoxication can trigger sleepwalking. While hotel guests may be unable to avoid sleepwalking, the least they could do it not sleep in nip. Tech journalists are, allegedly, afraid of nudity.
Leigh McCarron, the chain’s sleep director, said that given the increase in the number of sleepwalkers in the hotel, they had to ensure staff knew how to deal with the situation should it arise.
Apparently the most common questions asked by sleepwalkers, when discovered by staff, are, “Where’s the bathroom ?”, “Do you have a newspaper ?” and “Can I check out, I’m late for work ?”
