NTT DoCoMo builds finger phone

by - source: Tom's Hardware

The Japanese NTT DoCoMo is building prototype wristband phones integrating a device that converts sound into vibrations that are transmitted through the hand, so that users need only stick finger in ear to hear phone calls. The microphone is located in the wristband and tapping thumb and index together activates calls. Though prototypes function well, some analysts say consumers will not adopt any wearable device other than a wristwatch. The product is not set to come to market until 2005.
