Novell has let go chief executive Jack Messman and Chief Financial Officer Joseph Tibbets. Tibbets will leave immediately while Messman will stay until 31 October. The management shuffle is part of Novell’s restructuring. which was started last year. Novell hopes to cut 10% of its workforce and concentrate more on Linux products.
Ronald Hovsepian will be Novell’s new CEO while Dana Russell, the current vice president of finance, will act as the CFO until a replacement is found.
Back in 2001, Novell merged with Cambridge Technology Partners where Messman was the President. He was promoted to Novell’s CEO and replace Eric Schmidt.
