TMDisplay claims world's thinnest and lightest 12.1" notebook panel
Toshiba Matsushita Display (TMDisplay) today announced that it has succeeded in developing the world’s thinnest and lightest 12.1" low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFT LCD panel for notebooks.
The company said the 2.9mm, 183g panel, which uses a new light emitting diode (LED) backlighting system and very thin glass substrate, is about half as thick and 32% as heavy as current products on the market.
