Check out a free 30-day trial of Norton software -- no credit card required -- and enter to win movies!
As careful as we may be about our usage habits, it's responsible computing to have some sort of software protection to guard your PC from threats such as viruses and other malicious software.
According to data gathered by comScore, 58 percent of Tom's readers have security software on their computers (good for you guys!). 95 percent of Tom's readers are connected to the Internet at home, which is higher than the average. That means that possibly 37 percent of visitors are running without security software.
There are many choices out there for security software, but one of the big names is Norton. Symantec, the makers of Norton, have teamed up with Tom's Hardware to bring you a free, no credit card required 30-day trial of one of the Norton security products listed below. Hit the links for the registration for the free download.
Along with this promotion, we're also running a contest for USA residents (exclusing R.I.).

Wouldn't install Norton (or anything by Symantec) even if they paid me.
AVG, Microsoft Security Essentials and Avira ftw - free and awesome.
ahahahah - they are taking to bribing people to use their crap? i for one wont be going near them - the amount of machines i have to repair every week where a norton product is causing the problem boggles the mind - and 9 times out of 10 - you remove the norton software (you need a removal tool - what the hell guys?)and chuck a better alternative on there - the problems all of a sudden dissapear - the 10 machine usually has a hemorrage from the change and dies cause norton was so rooted in there and did so much damage itself and let so much spyware and virii through (floodgates?) the machine was doomed from the start
good luck with the bribing guys!
Norton used to be synonym for excellent software. Once Peter left, they destroyed the products. Today only an uninformed user or complete idiot would try using Symantec products.
Ghost is probably the only usable product from Norton.
Just wanted to thank you for adding "[USA]" to the title. It saves the usual disappointment of seeing a great offer in the title on the .co.uk site, reading the link and only finding out at the very end that it's only open to US readers.
That said, I personally wouldn't run Norton on any of my systems, but if we could keep the titling convention for future articles you will have lots less unhappy UK readers. Thanks.
A copy of the original Iron man dvd?! What kind of crappy prize is that, it's worth about £5.
Although that's more of a prize then the free Norton subscription...
If you install Norton you've allready lost, so no point entering in the first place to be honest.
Or if you happen to live on a part of the planet that the Yanks don't think they own, have Free 90 days on me for x86 and x64 ...

There is no way one can make me install norton or any symantec'S products...except if they pay me at least 100 bucks per months (upkeep) to do so...
Norton is too slow, too big and too hard to use.
It's sites like you who are responsible for growing immigration rates to USA with your US only contests
I've had more problems with Norton slowing down a perfectly good systems then any other program, its easy to work out, you uninstall it and the system stops lagging or taking 5 minutes to boot.
