At the digital and mobile focus event the night before Comdex opened, Nokia showed off a very interesting phone - the 6800 - that incorporates a real keyboard in a small, phone-sized package.
This new phone builds on the lessons Nokia learned with its Communicator - a brick-sized clamshell phone, with screen and keyboard costing about $1,000. 'We realized people want to put phones in their pockets', stated the Nokia representative.
In one configuration, the phone looks like your standard, small Nokia phone, but flip open the keypad, and the you end up with a real querty keyboard, with the 128 pixel square screen separating the right-hand and left-hand sides.
