Palm, which acquired Handspring in 2003, reportedly has become an acquisition target of the leading handset vendors and private placement funds, indicating the fast about-face of the global handset industry. Dell, which reportedly is planning to venture into the PDA phone segment, along with Motorola and Nokia, is pinpointed as among the potential predators for Palm.
