Nokia 6360 TDMA Mobile Phone

by - source: Tom's Hardware

You know the holidays are forthcoming when you see all the cute little "must-have" high-tech gadgets hit the wires. This year, it seems like the smartest thing to do would be to announce the more expensive gadgets first so that we have time to save our nickels and dimes to pay for all the fancy widgets that will make our loved ones love us all the more. Amongst the pre-holiday announcements, we find Nokia's updated version of its Nokia 6160 mobile phone, called the Nokia 6360. Along with compatibility with most existing Nokia accessories for the 6160, the Nokia 6360 includes features of its predecessor such as a built-in calendar phonebook and calculator. The 6360 adds a wireless Internet browser, voice dialing, and e-mail support to the feature list. The 4.2 ounce phone also adds a built-in infrared port for data exchange with PDAs and PCs, and support for phonebook, calendar and to-do list synchronization using Nokia's PC suite software. The voice dialing feature supports up to 20 pre-programmed phone numbers, and the phone also accepts voice commands to control menu items and up to 3 minutes of digital voice memo recording. Email support, text and picture messaging, and mobile chat, are also part of the 6360's repertoire and the its screen is over 40% larger than that of the Nokia 6160. Another interesting feature is support for wireless TTY/TDD (Teletype Device for Deaf). By accessing the 'TTY' setting in the 6360 phone, you can connect certain models of portable TTY terminals to the handset using an adapter accessory to communicate with other TTY users. Wish we had a picture, but scouring the `net led to nary a graphic.
