Analysts say Nintendo Wii will cost $200
Bean counters at Merrill Lynch are claiming that Nintendo’s new console will have a Wii price tag of just $200.
In a report, analyst Justin Post said that the outfit will probably release the Wii to undercut the Xbox 360 and send the hugely expensive $500/$600 Playstation 3 packing.
This price is, however, somewhat below the $300 price tag I’m expecting. Perhaps Nintendo really is going to go that low, but for a console that costs less than an iPod they’d want to sell truckloads of software in the next couple of years.
