Nintendo Reveals New Wii Controller
The Wii has been a gold mine for Nintendo. With all its amazing console sales, with it come attached peripheral sales. And soon, another controller will be added to the mix.
Shown on the Japanese Nintendo page is the Classic Controller Pro, which appears to take the original Classic Controller and modernizes it a little bit with ergonomic grips and relocated shoulder buttons. The layout of the controller now mimics Sony’s DualShock configuration.
Functionally, it appears that the Classic Controller Pro does not do anything more than its less pro counterpart. It even shows a cord, meaning that it too will have to be tethered to a Wii Remote for use. It’s a curiously extraneous addition to the Wii hardware line up, but perhaps we’ll know differently once it launches in Japan sometime this summer. No price was announced, though it’d be expected to be more than the regular Classic Controller.
