Nintendo Undercuts Xbox and PS2 Prices

Yes, we heard the cries of despair from those in the know who say that polygon counts can be deceptive and that GAMECUBE beats out Xbox in terms of rendering quality. We can't confirm it though, as Nintendo is really lax about putting out press releases and the like to keep us informed. Seems like giving info to the press would be a good idea as the competition heats up amongst the console vendors. Today, we found more second-hand Nintendo information on Cnet saying that the company will set the price of GAMECUBE at $199 - a solid hundred bucks less than Xbox and PS2.
