Nintendo launches pink and black versions of DS Lite
Nintendo will begin selling its portable game system DS Lite in two new colors beginning 13 Sept. In addition to "Polar White" the handheld will be available in "Coral Pink" and "Onyx" black. Nintendo said that the DS Lite is selling at a record pace but declined to provide exact shipment numbers.
The company, however, said that the game "Super Mario Bros." has sold more than 1 million times within the first 12 weeks after launch. Overall, DS system and game sales are both up about 300% in July, Nintendo said.
