Nintendo to front new video game expo
Framingham (MA) - Nintendo has signed up as an anchor exhibitor at the new "Entertainment for All Expo", a new convention from IDG aimed at replacing the defunct Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
The "E for All" expo was announced shortly after the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) cut down its spectacle E3 show to more hushed, intimate affair. Nintendo is the first of the big three (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft) to pledge support for the new show.
Unlike E3, which was a trade show at its core, E for All is a pulic event. IDG, which also runs the IDG World Expo, says E for All will include exhibitor halls, tournaments, on-site consumer retail facilities, and even a video game music concert.
The first annual E for All will kick off on October 18 and will run for four days. The event takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the same as the former E3, as well as the neighboring Nokia Theatre.
