New USB 2.0 Hub Controller from Cypress
Cypress says that its new TetraHub lets three USB speeds - 1.5 Mbps, 12 Mbps, and 480 Mbps - peacefully live together in USB-enabled systems. The CY7C65640 USB 2.0 hub controller can be used as a high-bandwidth controller in standalone hubs, monitor hubs, port replicators, and docking stations. The controller can also be used to increase the number of USB ports on a PC without integrating additional host controllers. The TetraHub controller is available in a 56-lead QFN configuration and Cypress offers a reference design and evaluation kit. The CY7C65640-LFC TetraHub controller is priced at $6.93 in volumes of 10,000.
