Intel Corp. will reportedly launch its new 815G and 815EG Celeron-oriented chipsets in full price-war mode, selling them to OEMs for $26.5 and $29, about the same cost as their 810 predecessors. Consumers will have competition between VIA Technologies and Silicon Integrated Systems (SIS) to thank for the low price base. Volume production will begin next quarter. The Register predicts that both will cost less than $20 in Q3.
