by - source: Tom's Hardware

Compaq just announced two new flat panel monitors, the TFT5015 and the TFT5030. Priced at $499, the TFT5015 is a 15" flat panel display that includes native XGA resolution, up to 200-nit brightness, an integrated power supply, and just about the same size viewable screen as a standard 17" CRT monitor. The Compaq TFT5030 monitor features a .30 mm pitch, brightness up to 300-nits, 170-degree viewing angles, and both digital and analog compatibility. Built in ASV (Advanced Super View) technology from Sharp is supposed to reduce pixel defects and the TFT5030 also includes Pixelworks' PW112 ImageProcessor IC, interface electronics, and an inverter to drive the backlight directly onto the LCD module. No pricing was available for the TFT5030 at the time of this posting.
