New Firefox update adds security, Vista support :
Mountain View (CA) - Mozilla released its third update to Firefox 2.0 this week. Version 2.0.0.4 fixes a couple security problems and helps to optimize Vista support.
The new update patches security issues including third-party abuse of cookies and a glitch that disables the auto complete feature.
Additionally, the update adds more support for Windows Vista. Although version 2.0.0.3 works fairly smoothly with Vista, some functionality was still missing.
For example, Vista users with Firefox as the default browser would still open up Internet Explorer when clicking on a link in AOL Instant Messenger, Word documents, and other applications. The new Firefox update has an option to fix this.
Two main Vista issues that remain even in Firefox 2.0.0.4 are the inability to migrate Internet Explorer 7 cookies and history, and Vista parental controls are still not compatible.
