New Abit i865 BIOS - 17% more performance!
We reported just over a week ago regarding Abit's latest BIOS for their 865PE motherboard range, the IS7/IC7, enabling Intel's PAT technology which was previously only available on 875 based boards. Well, after extensive testing, the BIOS file has finally been released to the public. Furthermore, Abit are even touting the board as being "17% faster than all other Springdale boards" , however, we're assuming that this is only when comparing a PAT-enabled motherboard to a non PAT-enabled one. Nevertheless, the new BIOS file offers four new performance modes, Auto, Turbo, Street Racer and F1. The mode you are able to select will depend on the quality of your memory modules, however, the fastest of the lot is obviously the "F1" or Formula 1 mode.
