NETGEAR announced its FWG114P ProSafe 802.11g Wireless Firewall with USB Print Server today.
The 802.11g router is one of the few recently-introduced products to include both a USB Print Server and serial port for dialup or ISDN-based Internet access. NETGEAR says the serial port supports auto-failover if the Ethernet WAN connection fails, and a "future upgrade" will add single-user remote access server (RAS) support.
Other features include SPI-based firewall, integrated four port 10/100 switch, detachable 5dBi antenna and 64/128 bit WEP encryption. The product will not support Wi-Fi Protected Access’ (WPA) enhanced security, however, until an "expected December 2003" free firmware upgrade.
The FWG114P will be available next month for $276 suggested list.
