Netcraft counts 70 million websites
The Netcraft Web Server Survey is a survey of Web server software usage on the Internet. Netcraft received responses to its August 2005 survey from 70,392,567 sites - an increase of 2.8 million over the response from July.
August is the 31th consecutive month of growth for the Web and the second-largest monthly increase in the survey’s history. The largest gain, of 3.3 million, occurred in March 2003, and kicked off the subsequent two-and-half years of growth.
