by - source: Tom's Hardware

Packard Bell NEC Inc.'s Consumer Division has unveiled a striking all-in-one home computer - the Z1.

The integrated system design marries a distinctive 15" flat-panel display with a 450MHz Intel Pentium III processor, 8.4GB hard drive and 96MB of SDRAM, a multimedia keyboard, DVD-ROM drive, S3 Savage 4 AGP graphics controller with 8MB of video RAM and built-in speakers.

The Z1's small footprint, which is five times smaller than the space required for a conventional desktop PC and monitor, and its all-in-one chassis design reflects the fusion of desktop and notebook technology, according to the company.

Slated to arrive on retail shelves in North America in early August, the PC will carry a suggested retail price of $2,499.
