NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc., has announced that it will offer a two-year extended service plan to provide continuous five-year coverage for its stand-alone flat panel monitors. Known as the Premium ProtectT program, the plan will offer covered service for all monitor parts and labor available under the original warranty, including lightning and power surge protection. NEC-Mitsubishi has chosen a third-party supplier to provide the extended service. As many companies now keep their monitors between four and six years, the extended warranty program makes sense from an economic point of view.
