Dell today said that NASDAQ informed the company of a potential delisting, pending a decision by the qualifications panel of the trading organization. The letter is part of a standard procedure of NASDAQ that followed Dell’s decision to delay the filing of its Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 4 August of this year.
Dell stated that it is currently unable to file the form, because of "questions raised in connection with an informal investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) into certain accounting and financial reporting matters."
The company said it plans to request a hearing before a NASDAQ listing qualifications panel in response to the letter and will file the report "as soon as possible."
