Napster Ware to be Auctioned
A few 'grinning cat' logo trinkets, t-shirts and pallets of used computers and monitors are all that remain of the once booming subscription music file swapping and sharing service, Napster. These goods will be auctioned off to help recover some of the costs incurred from Napster's legal debacle. The assets, brand name and intellectual property of Napster were approved for purchase by software maker, Roxio, after Napster filed for bankruptcy. Napster was ordered to halt its music file swapping service by a Federal judge until Napster stopped its unauthorized trade in copyrighted music. Napster has remained shut down since then.
