Nanya: DRAM contract prices to fall 5-10% in February
While projecting its bit growth will reach 10% sequentially in the first quarter of 2007, Nanya Technology expects to see some pricing pressure in February and the company estimates DRAM contract prices will slide approximately 5-10%, according to company spokesperson and vice president of global sales and marketing Pei-lin Pai at a January 24 investor conference. After seeing the DRAM average selling price (ASP) increase 11% on quarter in the fourth quarter of 2006, current contract prices should begin seeing pressure for a price correction, especially when some chips have a contract price 50% higher than spot prices, Pai said.
