To enable the computer-independent functions, the M1600A comes with an extra power supply and a small slot bracket board. The board serves as a power supply for the DVD and has two audio jacks for home stereo or speaker connections.

The connection board features yet another audio input for connecting an additional device. Of course, you can't record with it.

A sea of cables is required to deliver power to the M1600A, to send back audio signals and to connect the sound card with speakers and/or stereo system.

The button for opening the load tray is hard to reach when the control panel is open.

Gigabyte even included an equalizer function that supports pop, rock, jazz, flat and classic modes.
