The MTX virus, discovered in August and labeled low risk at the time, has shown signs of becoming a more serious threat. It is interesting because it blocks infected users when they try to visit most virus protection Websites to download anti-viral updates. Similarly, it prevents attempts to send email to most companies that might help users with their problem. MTX is transmitted through e-mail attachments and spread through the victim's Outlook e-mail address book. Email subject lines and attachment type are randomly chosen.
