MPAA circulating draft legislation on broadcast flag
When we reported earlier this week that the US Court of Appeals shot down the FCC-mandated broadcast flag, we predicted that the MPAA would turn its efforts toward the US Congress in an attempt to give the Federal Communications Commission the congressional mandate necessary to impose the flag.
It didn’t take long.
Advocacy group Public Knowledge has unearthed what looks like language for such legislation. Drafted by the MPAA, the bill would give them everything the original broadcast flag would have, and then some.
