Mozilla tackles Web apps
Mozilla.org, Netscape's open-source developers group, has always maintained that its technology could provide the foundation for applications delivered via the Internet to users. Since September, a CollabNet-backed site called MozDev.org has offered developers the tools for building Mozilla-based Web applications. The group, of course, faces daunting competition from companies such as Microsoft Corp. and Sun Microsystems.
