Motorola Wins China Mobile Cellular Contracts
Motorola Inc. has announced that it has entered into contracts with China Mobile (Hong Kong) Ltd., the largest cellular carrier in the world, that are valued at $68 million. As part of the deal, Motorola will upgrade the GSM networks of China Mobile in central and western provinces, and will extend the GPRS network of China Mobile in certain southern provinces. Motorola plans to complete its expansion of China Mobile's networks by the first half of 2003.
