Motorola signs foundry deal with TSMC
Motorola has entered into a manufacturing alliance with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), the world's largest dedicated IC foundry.
The move is designed to allow Motorola to add capacity and provide more agile response to market fluctuations, Motorola officials said.
The volume products to be manufactured at TSMC will be based on the Motorola 0.25-micron and 0.35-micron CMOS logic process technologies, which are widely used for production of microcontroller devices.
TSMC is on the web at http://www.tsmc.com.tw . Motorola's site is located at http://www.mot.com .
