Motorola: G4s to ship 'within weeks'
Apple Computer's chip problems could evaporate in under a month, if Motorola delivers its new 400MHz and 450MHz G4 processors according to its revised production schedule.
Following Apple's warning of an expected fourth-quarter downturn in profits - blamed on a shortage of G4 chips - officials at Motorola's Networks and Computing Systems Group said the processor maker will fulfill its delivery goals for the G4 processors "within weeks."
New 500MHz G4s will also be available, though not immediately.
