Tom's Hardware Guide is nearly 10 years old, but we don't want it to grow up. We like it the way it is: a bit earthy, a bit edgy, but all heart. It gets kicked about every now and then, but it gets to kick back, and there are not too many sites that are as pleasurable to love and hate at the same time.

Yes, we know the whole love hate relationship thing that we have going on with you. We struggle every day with the notion that we live in a constantly evolving sado-masochistic, co-dependent relationship with you, our readers. It's what makes us work on our spelling, and spend weeks on end running monotonous tests on power supplies, GPUs, CPUs, and almost anything else we can find with a current.

So, it should come as no surprise that we kind of want to broaden our coverage and take our mantra to other areas of technology. We're more masochist than sadist, in that regard.

The idea of expanding our horizons is not new. We started with Tom's Networking Guide back in January 2004. It was an offshoot of the Networking Guide on Tom's Hardware. Now, Tom's Networking has its own following, and they are as enthusiastic about networking as some people who read Tom's Hardware are about case modding, or CPU cooling techniques.

So, What Is Going On Now?

Today, we have taken our traditional Hard News and expanded it into TG Daily . We have seen our news postings get more and more popular. We have been steadily building a team of writers who are enthusiastic about tech news, and they have managed to attract an audience that is five times bigger today than it was a year ago. TG Daily allows us to do more news, and to use a new format to broaden and increase our coverage. We just needed a platform to thrive with our tech news, and TG Daily is going to be it.

In time, we hope that TG Daily will be a technology newspaper, one that addresses all the products, trends, opinions, and issues that interest our readers. A place where the news that matters the most to you, and us, can all reside and be easily navigated.

Yes! We know that you sometimes, if not always, hate the clutter on our pages, and that you sometimes, if not always, hate the navigation. Heck, we like to watch you squirm, but we're working on giving you alternatives. With the new site layouts, we will reduce the clutter, and improve navigation, as well as having more real estate to put up even more stuff. It's going to take a few weeks to iron out the kinks, but we think we are on the right track. Your feedback is welcome, if not feared.
