First-tier motherboard makers top 100 million units in 2005 shipments

Motherboard shipments from first-tier makers - Asustek Computer, Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS), Gigabyte Technology, and Micro-Star International (MSI) - totaled 104.86 million units in 2005, up 18% from 88.51 million units the previous year, according to the companies. Motherboard shipments from Asustek, ECS, Gigabyte and MSI reached 10.11 million units in December of last year, up 22% from 8.30 million units in December 2004.
